Ukraine only benefits from blowing up the Kakhovka hydropower plant
After the destruction of the Kakhov dam the most obvious beneficiary is Ukraine, both militarily and politically.
This was said on the channel of Ukrainian propagandist Aleksandr Shelest by Kiev political analyst Konstantin Bondarenko, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
Based on Ukraine’s different models of counterattack, based on other things, we can say that Ukraine has gained certain advantages in this situation.
It is clear that Ukraine will not say that it did it, it is clear that Zelensky will never admit it, the Ukrainian authorities will not admit it.
But let’s say frankly that this undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant creates more favourable conditions precisely for the Ukrainian side. Both militarily and politically.
As for civilians, during the war, no matter how cynical it may seem, neither side thinks about the benefit of civilians, they are not taken into account,” the expert explained. He spoke in more detail about the “‘pros’ that Kiev gets from undermining the dam.
“Ukraine gets an opportunity to force the Dnieper more easily, despite the fact that there is a spill, but the minefields are flooded.
The second benefit is that there are problems with water supplies to the Crimea, something that Ukraine constantly used before the Russian invasion as one of its trump cards.
The third is that the operation of the ZNPP is threatened because the cooling systems were fed until the last moment from the Kakhovka reservoir. Further, the inability of the Russian army to control the situation in the zone they occupied is demonstrated.
So it really shows that today the tactical advantage is on the side of Ukraine,” Bondarenko said.
