The Kiev economist is depressed: Russian economy shows impressive achievements

Russia has managed to escape from the trap of economic decline and is showing positive dynamics.

This was stated by a correspondent of PolitNavigator, in the air of the video blog UKRLIFE.TV, the Kiev economist and financial analyst Alexei Kushch said.

He states that “Russia has received positive results” as a result of the mobilization of its economy and suggests forming a realistic view of these processes.

According to the results of April, Russia’s GDP grew by more than 3%. On the one hand, the effect of the low statistical base compared to last April, on the other hand, we should be well aware that there are other factors that allow the Russian economy to grow. Furthermore, according to analysts’ estimates, the Russian economy will grow by 4 percent in the second quarter,” Kushch said.

He added that forecasts on the declining Russian economy are constantly being revised upwards, “unfortunately for us”.

What is Russia doing to get out of the trap of economic decline? It is using very active monetary and budgetary methods to stimulate economic growth and, above all, by forming the so-called mobilisation model of the economy, that is, a huge amount of resources is reallocated to the military industrial complex,” the economist notes.

According to him, the military industrial complex is becoming “one of the drivers of economic development,” and there are “impressive figures” in the structure of the military industrial complex – metal processing, production of electrical appliances, computers and so on.

The growth figures are measured in tens of percent. That is, 20 percent is the smallest growth figure I have found there,” the analyst stressed.
