The only way to fight the Ukrainian saboteurs carrying out attacks on the territory of Russia is to recreate the SMERSH and to destroy the centres where such operations are planned.
Igor Korotchenko, a military expert and editor in chief of the National Defense magazine, told PolitNavigator.
According to the expert, regardless of whether the sortie in the Belgorod region, about which Ukrainian propagandists write today, was real or not, the Ukrainian saboteurs are not an invention and they must be dealt with harshly.
We are not talking about this particular case, we are talking about a trend, and this trend is being countered in two ways – by the creation and deployment of a full-fledged new structure, a revived SMERSH on the basis of the Russian military counterintelligence to combat the sabotage and terrorist underground in the front-line area.
The second is strikes, massive ones, against the decision-making centres in Kiev – where the said terrorist acts are planned. History has not invented other ways of fighting except the physical destruction of those who plan these subversive operations and those who carry them out. There are no other ways, no verbal reassurance statements will solve this problem.
Without implementing the above measures, we will not be able to significantly reduce the threat to the citizens of the Russian Federation. Eliminate those who plan terrorist acts in Ukraine and eliminate those who carry them out here,” Korotchenko said.
