Dugin: the Kremlin was ready to leave Russian Crimea to “friendly Ukraine”. Now there will be no Ukraine

Russia no longer needs any Ukraine – it has lost its chance to exist by giving up alliance with Russia or neutrality.

The well-known Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin said this at the forum “What kind of Ukraine do we need?” in Moscow, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Dugin, Russia could have agreed to an allied Ukraine and even accepted it as neutral, but after 2014 this chance was lost.

We needed a friendly Ukraine. The only Ukraine we needed was a friendly Ukraine.

After it had been rapidly going away for 30 years, turning into an unfriendly Ukraine, we could have tolerated, tolerated a neutral Ukraine. We don’t really need such neutral Ukraine, but at least we could tolerate it.

But a hostile Ukraine that joins NATO is not only unnecessary to us, it is impossible. This is the explanation of the Special Military Operation.

A friendly Ukraine, no borders, like in the European Union, we live in fraternal nations. Everybody, stay, speak your language. A friendly country, a friendly culture, another language. Russian in Novorossia and Western in the West.

A friendly Ukraine could simply preserve, develop and become gradually a full-fledged, sovereign state. Neutral Ukraine is already more problematic, because the balance was difficult, some situations brought us to tough decisions.

But when it became openly hostile, especially after 2014, there was no such Ukraine for us anymore. Since 14, we do not need any Ukraine and we are fighting to ensure that it does not exist anymore,” Dugin said.
