President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin visited the headquarters of the Dnepr group of troops in the Kherson direction and the headquarters of the Vostok National Guard in the LPR.

During the meeting at the headquarters of the Dnepr group of troops, the situation in the Kherson and Zaporozhye directions was discussed. The President heard reports from the commander of the Airborne Troops, Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky, Commander of the Dnepr group of troops, Colonel-General Oleg Makarevich and other military leaders,” the message reads.
At the same time, at the headquarters of the National Guard “Vostok” in the LPR, Vladimir Putin received reports from Colonel-General Alexander Lapin and other senior officers on the situation in this area.
In addition, the head of state congratulated the servicemen on the Easter holiday and presented them with copies of icons.
Putin visited the Kherson region for the first time. This was his second trip to new regions. In March, he visited Mariupol.
The visit of the Supreme Commander—in-Chief on the eve of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is a step designed to inspire the personnel before the start of full-scale hostilities. The visit showed that the attitude to the potential Ukrainian offensive is serious. This will have a psychological impact on both sides of the contact line – for the Russian army it is unequivocal support, for the Ukrainian it is a propaganda fiasco.
